Repeater Update

Repeater is back online

Today we did some work on the 442.275 repeater, we got the original rx module installed and working so now the repeater is 100%, before we had been using a vertex mobile as rx. With that now done the repeater now needs a 151.4hz PL tone to get into it, no tone no access so program the tone in.

Tomorrow it is likely the repeater will be down for a few hours as I re-check and re-tune the duplexer. that can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours. once that is done the repeater will be turned back on and hopefully done at least for the rest of winter.

Update- Repeater work is finished for now, its still ain't 100% right, the duplexer retune didn't go well as one of the cans isn't right as it was damaged at some point in its life. so for now it is as good as it is going to get. Likely issues the machine is still going to have is desense, which at this point we are unable to fix so weak signals are likely to be eaten by the desense.

As for range it should cover the county ok on mobile and base should be better coverage. HT coverage isn't going to be worth much so if you are on a HT unless you have decent external antenna you might as well forget it unless you are pretty much within a couple miles of the machine.
